We’ve Already Come So Far
Recognizing and Celebrating Milestones
Congratulations on everything you have accomplished! So much had to happen in such a short time. No matter your position, you have dealt with a lot.
It may have included:
Outbound contact with all your clients
Moving your office home or create distance
Address family needs with spouses, children, parents and significant others
Using technology at a whole new level
Taking on added tasks to address logistical changes
Learning new technology, the Ten-Minute Client Contact, COVID 19 Emergency Loan, CARES Act, The Families First Coronavirus Response Act
And you are invited to share all the other things you have gotten done in the past few weeks with us.
You have done this with amazing energy, grace, and truly shown care and concern for your clients and colleagues. Many of you are even growing through this by adding new clients and assets. While this is not over, it is worth celebrating all you have been doing to address the current crisis.
We need to take a breath and take a look around and see where we are now. Before we hit it hard again, maybe we can think about how we can have a little virtual celebration.
Here are just a few ideas of ways we can celebrate how far we’ve come so far with one another:
Create a little fun – Ask me about my moustache!
A virtual happy hour
Recognize extraordinary effort
Self-Care review and personal renewal
Share success stories
Team lunch – order delivery for everyone from the same place
Play an online game together
We need to re-energize before we go back to the battlefield. A little time to collect ourselves and think about what we need to do over the next 30 days. What’s rough about this situation is we have no mile markers. We don’t know where we are in this race. So we need to create mini-plans in increments that will keep us on task until we are back to normal.
Please accept my personal congratulations on how you have and are conducting yourselves and leading your clients, colleagues, and families in a constructive, healthy, and financially-wise manner. Those of you who have never been through a crisis like this during your career are rising to the occasion and responding appropriately.
Thank you - this is a badge of honor that you will wear proudly forever.
